The ZOTAC Cup was one of the few regular Brood War tournaments that fans of foreign professional StarCraft got to enjoy. Every week since it`s inception, a tournament with the prize pool of 100 Euros was held, which would ocassionally bring in some of the top names of the foreign StarCraft community. However, unlike it`s WarCraft 3 counterpart and in spite of the decent monetary prize, the event never received much attention and coverage. In addition, ZOTAC was often criticised for it`s failure to pay up the rewards for non-European players in a timely fashion. After 37 editions, the StarCraft ZOTAC Cup was halted and it was hinted that it would return for StarCraft II.

Every week on Friday, TeamLiquid commentator Sean "Day[9]" Plott will be doing a podcast where he shares his thoughts on the StarCraft II Beta. Day[9] is one of the most renowned personalities in the StarCraft community, being widely considered to be one of the top Zerg players in the US as well as an exceptional commentator.

In the first podcast, he is joined by Tristan "Mantra" Brand, a veteran of many Blizzard RTS games. The podcast is 35 minutes long and talks about how the original StarCraft evolved since its beginnings and what the two experienced Starcraft players think about the new game.

In our continued coverage of the StarCraft II beta, we want to provide those who are unable to participate in the beta testing process with as much information as possible. For this reason, we are proud to present the SC2Armory Beta Weekly!

Every week on Saturday, Community Manager Tom Phoenix will post an article in which he will share his experiences from the beta as well as express his opinion on the game. With this, we are hoping to provide Armory members with a detailed account of the general state of the game as the beta testing process develops.
